Another lifeline running next to mine

I was living a parallel life
until I chose

to jump.

Nigel McNeil – Contemporary Artist, London

PARALLEL LIVES

Parallel Lives emerged through a series of thresholds. Moments when a life divided. When grief rearranged the landscape. When truth demanded visibility. When staying would have meant living in an echo. Again and again I found myself standing between two lines – who I had been and who I was becoming. Nothing disappeared. The past did not fall away. It continued on beside me. Parallel Lives traces those parallel movements. Across painting, drawing and writing, I return to recurring shapes – the line, the circle, the ripple – searching for the pattern beneath the feelings. Geometry offers structure. Emotion spills across it. The line may shift direction, but it does not break.
