PARALLEL LINES
PARALLEL LINES
LESSONS OF LOVE

They said take your time
Learn the rules
Don’t rush your heart
Don’t break it too soon

In geography they teach you
How the world is laid out wide
How to read the lines and borders
How to know which way to guide

How to find where things belong
How to see how pieces meet
How the right direction matters
When you’re trying to find your feet

Now I know where I am going
Now I know where I should be
Every road keeps pointing back to
Where you’re standing next to me

I didn’t fall by accident
I didn’t miss the signs
I just kept noticing
How you fit into my life

It’s physics, the way I’m pulled to you
Every force inside me
Knows exactly what to do

It’s chemistry, every time our worlds collide
Something in me changes
Every single time

It’s not magic, it’s not sent from above
It’s how every part of me
Learns these lessons of love

In biology they teach you
How the body learns to feel
How your breath and heartbeat change
When something suddenly feels real

That’s the way my body knows you
Before my head can catch up too
The way my pulse gives me away
Every time I look at you

I don’t believe in perfect timing
I don’t believe in chance
I just believe in being here
In the way our atoms dance

In mathematics they teach you
How to add things up
But nobody had to show me
Why the sum of us means this much

In English they teach you
How words are such an art
But your language came so easy
Like something I knew by heart

I didn’t study this
I didn’t take a class
I kept showing up
And somehow… I passed

It’s physics, the force I feel inside
It’s chemistry, every time our worlds collide

It’s biology, the way my body knows
It’s mathematics, how the sum of us just grows

It’s not magic, it’s not sent from above
It’s how every part of me
Learns these lessons of love

I didn’t need school,
to teach me how to love you.
